Abstract

On December 3, 1980, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., I had an interesting experience I would like to share with you. I was interviewed via telephone by the Director, Health Policy Analysis Division of Applied Management Sciences, Silver Spring, Maryland, and San Diego, California, in conjunction with a research project they had undertaken. The comments made were in response to specific questions asked by the interviewer that, as you will note, touched on almost every apsect of the profession. As a result of this conversation, an interview summary was prepared, which follows:
