Terms and Conditions for Use
Copyright/Proprietary Rights Notice
Unless otherwise noted, the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. (AOTA) and AOTA Press (hereinafter, collectively referred to as the Publisher) hold the copyright for all materials published in the American Journal of Occupational Therapy (AJOT), whether in print or electronic, both as a compilation and as individual items. Access is provided on a limited-time, subscription basis to individual and institutional subscribers and as a benefit to AOTA members (hereinafter, collectively referred to as Subscribers). All content is provided to members and subscribers for their exclusive use. AJOT content is subject to fair-use provisions of U.S. or applicable international copyright laws (see http://www.copyright.gov/title17/92chap1.html). The following guidelines apply:
- Subscribers may view, download, print, or save content for the purposes of private use. Systematic downloading (by robots or other automatic processes) is prohibited.
- Subscriber account and login information is provided for personal or institutional administrator use only. Subscribers and institutional administrators may not share their user name or password without the Publisher’s permission.
- Subscribers may not reproduce, post, redistribute, sell, modify, or create a derivative work of any of this site’s content without prior and express written permission of the Publisher.
- For permissions to reprint or copy content beyond that permitted by Section 107 or 108 of the U.S. Copyright Law, contact the Copyright Clearance Center or AOTA Press.
Terms of Sale for "Pay-Per-View"
makes individual articles and issues available for a fee through a "pay-per-view" process, which provides short-term access to the purchaser's desired content. Because any online access, no matter how fleeting, provides access to copyrighted content, all pay-per-view transactions are final and nonrefundable. Questions about transactions may be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org
Disclaimer of Warranty
The AJOT site is continually under development, and changes may be made to the content at any time.
In no event shall the Publisher be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages, including but not limited to, loss of data, business interruption, or loss of profits, arising out of the use of or the inability to use the content.
AJOT is provided “as is”: The Publisher has made every effort to ensure its accuracy but does not warrant or guarantee its accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. Descriptions of, advertising for, or references to products or publications neither constitute nor imply a guarantee, endorsement, or support of claims made of that product, publication, or service.
